"Literature is news that STAYS news"

"Gloom and solemnity are entirely out of place in even the most rigorous study of an art originally intended to make glad the heart of man."

"As to the relative merits of Chaucer and Shakespeare, English opinion has been bamboozled for centuries by a love of stage, the glamour of the theatre, the love of bombastic rhetoric and of sentimentalizing over actors and actresses; these, plus the national laziness and unwillingness to make the least effort, have completely obscured the values."
"Good writers are those who keep the language efficient. That is to say, keep it accurate, keep it clear."
Och Pound citerar sig själv, från "How to read":
"Great literature is simply language charged with meaning to the utmost possible degree."

"Literature is news that STAYS news."

Dejavu all over again. Bra sagt, Ez!

Is it only me or do a few of the responses look like coming from brain dead individuals?
:-P And, if you are posting at additional sites, I would like to follow you.
